Duro Tapet - Dahlströmskagården - Blue
Dating from the eighteenth century, the historic building of Dahlströmska gården is just down the road from Vadstena convent. This is where we found the design for this wallpaper.
The pattern was originally part of a painted stenciled design and comes from the way the walls of the house were decoratively painted up to the 1860s. Stenciling dates back to the medieval period but was at its height in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The stenciling technique was a popular way of decorating the walls of houses. It was common to stencil entire walls as an alternative to the more expensive recent innovation of wallpaper. Fragments of the old painting and the wallpapers have been preserved and can still be seen at Dahlströmska gården in Vadstena.
Paste it directly to the wall. This wallpaper is manufactured using eco-friendly production methods and can be washed using soap and water. The colors you see in product photos may not be exactly the same as the colors of the wallpapers themselves.
